Bundle up for Botox Warms up Local Elementary School

This is the second holiday season in which Dr. McCormack and her staff have hosted an event called “Bundle up for Botox”.

Bundle up for Botox is a program which patients of Dr. McCormack who wish to have Botox cosmetic during the winter months are given the opportunity to receive a $75 discount.  The patients of this prestigious cosmetic surgeon are encouraged to bring in a hat and a pair of gloves for children ages 5-12 to receive the discount.

The gloves and hats that are received in the office go to Greenbrae Elementary School, located in Sparks, Nevada.

“It’s great, because I love to beautify myself, but I also feel like I am helping the children in my community who really need it,” said Melanie Beverage, a patient of Dr. McCormack’s.

A lot of Dr. McComack’s patients felt that this cause motivated them to contribute as much as they could to the children.  Many men and women have participated in Botox treatment, and heard of it through word-of-mouth and visiting the office.

Linda Weldt, a Reno native said, “This is my second year donating, and I made sure to let all of my friends know when I found out about because you really can’t get a better deal in town.  The women that work in the office are very professional and by doing this for their community, they show that they not only care about beauty, but about the well being of children.”

Susan Danton, a nurse at Dr. McCormack’s office came up with the idea of Bundle up for Botox, because her sister is a counselor at a title one school in the area.

“It really makes a difference for the little ones on the play ground, as far as providing some warmth on those cold mornings,” said Danton.

By definition, a Title I school is a set of programs set up by the United States Department of Education to distribute funding to schools with a high percentage of students with low-income families.

Some of the other Title I school’s in the area that Dr. McCormack’s office hopes to help are: Anderson Elementary School, Booth Elementary School, Lincoln Park Elementary School, and Sun Valley Elementary School.

“She [her sister] was relaying to me that there were a lot of children in transition that did not have coats, hats, and gloves.  And so, one group of individuals started donating coats and then we decided to offer this to our patients where they could donate and give back to the community and we feel like we are helping out also,” Danton said.

Dr. Tiffany McCormack was on board with the idea when she had heard what a great idea the program was.  And according to Dr. McCormack, this is not the practice’s last year doing Bundle up for Botox, “I would love to extend this to other Title I in the area.  We have already gotten more sets of hats and gloves this year than we did the last.  I can only imagine that it will go up from here, and by advertising and word of mouth, we can really get the ball rolling, and involve other plastic surgeon offices in the area.”

Last year, the office collected 20 sets of hats and gloves, but this year they already have 35 sets.  Also, patients who don’t even want Botox Cosmetic have brought in everything they could to help.

Luisa Segura, a mother of a young student who benefitted from Bundle up for Botox last year said, “ I’m really grateful that people who took advantage of this program were able to provide so much for our school, and my child in particular.  Now I have the comfort of knowing that my daughter will stay warm.”

According to Dr. McCormack’s website, Botox Cosmetic is a minimally invasive non-surgical alternative to a face lift or other serious surgeries. It is a procedure that smoothes deep, persistent facial lines with small injections that relax the muscles that are causing those lines without affecting adjacent healthy tissue.

This year there is more advertising than before, and it has really shown to improve the amount of people who choose to have Botox as well as the amount of donation that have been received.

Dr. McCormack says that Susan Danton is the one to thank for the success of Bundle up for Botox, “If it wasn’t for her time and her generosity, there would be children having to play outside with out any warmth.  She has also helped our practice flourish, she is the true epitome of what a woman should be.”
