Cooperative Extension looking for communications interns

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is looking for two communications interns for the 2012-13 academic year.

These jobs involve writing new releases and feature stories for publications on the activities and accomplishments of Cooperative Extension. UNCE is the college of UNR that “brings the university to you” with community-based programs delivered through our 19 statewide offices. Our faculty teach, research and deliver classes to Nevada citizens based on assessments of the needs in all 17 of Nevada’s counties.

Our interns are involved in a wide array of activities, depending on their skill sets. In addition to writing for magazines and newspapers, interns are also involved in creating educational videos, developing online games and designing publications.

Applicants should, first and foremost, be good writers and editors. Those with additional design and multimedia skills will have an edge over other candidates. The job pays between $8.50 and $12.41 per hour for up to 20 hours a week. A commitment of at least 10 hours per week is required.
