A Finished Restoration: The White Peugeot
My latest endeavor in bicycle restoration was a huge success. The frame: a 1984 Peugeot, French design and Canadian built. After dismantling the frame, we stripped the paint with acetone and wire-brush bit. We added three coats of rattle can primer, five coats of white and four coats of lacquer.
I replace the stripped aluminum cranks with 1986 Raleigh cranks and a corresponding chain ring, painted to match.
Then I installed new bearings in the bottom bracket and headset over a thick layer of fresh grease; new Alexandra Rims, Specialized seat and bar wraps. Original parts amounted to: brakes, bar, frame, peddles, bottom bracket and headset.
