UNR Mourning for Lost President

Milton Glick, the President of the University of Nevada, died last Saturday from a massive stroke at the age of 73.

President Glick was a well-loved man who liked to personally connect with his students and peers. He was known and loved for being friendly to all and for his smile. He was seen regularly walking around campus talking to students about their classes and majors and future plans.

President Glick was appointed to his office in 2006. Since then Glick has worked continually to improve the university of Nevada. He has commissioned many projects to better improve the learning experience for the student of the university. Buildings like the Joe Crowley Student Union Building, the Davidson Mathematics and Science Building, and the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center all came from under his leadership.

President Glick was an advocate for keeping the school budget. During the recent budget cuts, Glick was a strong voice in trying to save as much money as possible for higher education.

Milton Glick loved teaching and helping younger generations learn. He was involved in the education process for almost his entire life. He was loved and will be surely missed not just by his family and friends, but by the thousands of people who he has help throughout his life.
